1 of 8 beer bottle labels in the museum collection from liquors brewed or bottled at Nicholson's Brewery, Maidenhead, when the brewery was under Nicholson's management. Nicholsons Brewery first opened in 1840, by a twenty-year-old, William Nicholson (1820-1916). The Brewery was at its peak in the early 1900s, at which time it also owned 150 tied pubs. Later the Brewery was bought out by Simonds Brewery and later still by the Reading-based Courage brewery, Nicholsons Brewery closed its doors for good in 1960. The site were it stood in Maidenhead is now Nicholsons Shopping Centre and car park.Measurements: 51 x 76
